Job Title: Head of Operations

Location: Embakasi, Nairobi

Reports to: Accountable Manager
 

 

Role Purpose

Corporate Officer responsible for operational control of Jambojet Flights. Responsible for ensuring the safe, legal and efficient flight Operations of Jambojet Aircrafts while meeting the commercial requirements of the Airline.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership and management and exercises operational control of the activities, operations, and personnel of the flight department to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality, safety, service and standards for operating the Jambojet fleet.
  • Is the liaison with local regulators and stakeholders, as well as airlines, airport staff and other users regarding operations; attends public meetings regarding airport operations; coordinates, updates, and ensures compliance.
  • Ensure Operations are conducted in accordance with conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards of Jambojet.
  • Represent the company in aviation matters through trade associations, the regulatory bodies, airport management, community organizations and contracted suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the validity and availability of all required Certificates and Operations Specifications, including certificate renewals, waivers, authority for deviations and all amendments therein.
  • Advise management on the status and requirements for aircraft and other equipment consistent with the company’s needs and goals
  • Ensure that high levels of customer service is provided by the flight operations department to its customers
  • Maintain updated copies of all required company, KCAA approved manuals, preparing and submitting revisions for approval as necessary, and ensuring compliance in Flight Operations.
  • Participate actively in Quality and Safety Management Systems for all Flight Operation
  • Prepare, monitor & control annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, outside services, personnel, training, capital expenses and reserves, ensuring optimal resources management
  • Ensure training and development of crew and Operational staff to meet all licensing, regulatory and company requirements so as to deliver a high quality, safe and efficient service.
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of flight safety by developing,setting and monitoring standards for flight Operations in trainingin flight service delivery, in flight security,reporting and communication.

  • Diploma or higher qualification in Management and/or Aviation or related field

  • Added advantage if TRI/TRE (simulator instructor)
  • Some knowledge of low cost carriers a plus
  • Awareness of Commercial Airline industry dynamics and business environment desirable

Job Title: Head of Quality

Location: Embakasi, Nairobi

Reports to: Accountable Manager

 

Role Purpose

To provide a focal point for the development, coordination and compliance of Quality standards in order to meet the requirements to maintain the Air Operators Certificate, and IATA Operating Standards.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Maintain a Quality Management Systems for the airline that ensures high performance standards are achieved to satisfy KCAA regulations, company policies & procedures and industry requirements.
  • Ensure development of Company Documentation Management System and operational manuals in compliance with KCAA regulations and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with Kenya Civil Aviation Authority so as to ensure AOC is renewed and Operations Specifications are acquired and kept current in accordance with Kenya Civil Aviation regulations.
  • Provide an independent assessment and overview of the Quality management of the maintenance, operational and corporate activities and where issues are not being addressed adequately; advise or raise with the Managing Director/CEO and other senior management.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective or preventive actions that address relevant compliance and/or conformity issues have been implemented and are being monitored for effectiveness.
  • Must ensure that all C of A (Certificate of Airworthiness) for all aircrafts are valid
  • Ensure communication and coordination with operational managers in the management of operational risk.
  • Ensure AMO (Air maintenance Organization) compliance with KCAA regulations
  • Ensure AMP (Air Maintenance Program) is adhered to
  • Develop and implement a thorough audit cycle that address all areas of Jambojet’s operations, systems, infrastructure, partnerships
  • Maintain an open liaison with regulatory bodies and other airlines worldwide;

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Degree holder, technically qualified in the field of aircraft maintenance or flight or ground operations
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of aircraft maintenance, or flight or ground operations
  • Has successfully completed training in Quality Management Systems certification recognized by KCAA
  • Certification in Quality Management/Audit Technique desirable
  • Sound awareness of Commercial Airline industry dynamics and business environment.
  • Experience in documentation procedures an added advantage
  • Strong commercial attitude, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills, problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner as well as communicate across multiple business & customers groups.

Job Title: Head of Information Systems

Location: Embakasi, Nairobi

Reports to: Accountable Manager

 

Role Purpose

  • To lead internal stakeholders through the successful implementation of information systems projects throughout all functions of the airline, in pursuit of efficiency; from inception to delivery to optimization.
  • To develop innovative IS systems, standards, policies and procedures and ensure appropriate integration across the organization
  • To lead the development and implementation of company-wide (a) Systems Continuity Plans (SCPs) and (b) Systems Security Strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Work very closely with internal customers to perform business process analysis so as to create documentation of processes and provide IS solutions for workflow optimization
  • Develop and continuously update full scale project plans and associated communication plans in order to track project delivery for all Information Systems
  • Manage the deployment of a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side change caused by business systems implementation efforts, in order to ensure smooth uptake of business systems by User departments
  • Be accountable for the availability and accuracy of the Commercial, RM, Finance and Payment Systems
  • Lead and champion the support of existing systems at Airports where Jambojet operates.
  • Work closely with Kenya Airports Authority and other airport authorities to ensure that systems automation requirements are catered for, and integration requirements between airport authority systems and Jambojet systems are successfully addressed, to ensure optimal passenger handling
  • Ensure all outsourced support is delivered within the service level expectations and agreements.
  • Work closely with the Web / E-Commerce teams to ensure high availability and reliability of Web and E-commerce Systems
  • Development, Implementation and Maintenance of ICT Security Strategy, Policy and Procedures
  • Design, review and update, as required, effective and efficient IT infrastructure and hardware
  • Develop and Manage the Communications & Networks Strategy for the Airline.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Graduate in IT or related field.
  • Knowledge and experience of the ITIL framework to practitioner level or equivalent

Job Title: Executive Assistant / Office Manager

Role Purpose

  • To provide support to MD/CEO by providing executivelevel administrative support

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

Executive Assistant

  • Manage the MD/CEO calendar (planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel)
  • Prepare meeting’s agenda and provide background information; Read documents, carry out research, compile and analyze relevant information; and draft letters, documents, presentations and other communications from the Managing Director in the appointments schedule Draft, take dictation, type correspondence and reports
  • Coordinate document movement from the MD/CEO’s Office to relevant parties for appropriate action, follow up, and report on progress
  • Maintain effective filing and record management system for MD/CEO’s Office and ensure safety security and confidentiality
  • Attend to internal and external visitors to the MD/CEO’s Office
  • Manage executive communication including taking calls, responding to emails and taking messages for the MD/CEO’s action
  • Liaise with management, staff, board members, customers, government departments, and stake holders for effective and efficient communication and operations.
  • Document & follow up on work required by the management team including updates & progress reports to facilitate business decisions.

Office Manager

  • Point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills and errands
  • Optimizing administrative procedures (i.e. intra workstation communication, office supplies, office furniture, inventory control, transport logistics)
  • Manage Office Kitchen and Cleaning Services, including supervision of staff in said areas
  • Carry out workplace registration and licensing

 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
  • Ability to design on administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures

Job Title: Marketing Manager

Role Purpose

Under the guidance & direction of the Head of Sales and Marketing this position is
responsible for the end-to-end planning, implementation and execution of the Jambojet
marketing strategy The Marketing Manager is responsible for driving brand performance, growing brand equity, awareness and engagement. This role supports customer communication strategy, planning and oversees campaign creation and execution including agency management (PR, media, creative agencies).

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Develop an annual marketing plan that closely aligns the efforts of Marketing and Sales to generate optimal demand for the brand,
  • Responsible for media budget management and allocations, in consultation with Head of Marketing
  • Identify key USPs that differentiate the brand as superior, strong and favorable associations that the customer identifies with.
  • Implement below and above the line campaigns to support the marketing campaigns based on market dynamics.
  • Manage brand consistency across all guest touch points and company assets
  • Explore and incorporate new approaches to brand innovation
  • Media Planning, Execution and Monitoring
  • Agency Contracting and Management
  • Market Research (deep understanding of demographics, psychographics, and behavioral drivers of brand’s consumer, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing function in a large organization
  • Clear understanding of the commercial operations of the aviation industry, preferably in a low cost carrier
  • Must have strong business acumen
  • At least 3-5 year experience in a busy commercial organization, working in Marketing and with specific responsibility for Media and Marketing Strategy/operations.

in a media agency with competency in offline and PR strategy, execution, measurement and insights

  • Strong Commercial Orientation
